I dunno why I thought that title was funny. Well I do, but I don’t know why I insisted on using it.
Anyway, I am currently doing Camp Nanowrimo. For those who don’t know, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writers Month) is an annual online event. For writing novels. In november. Basically you sign up and everyone (national, you see!) in the world (actually I guess that should be ‘international’…) starts on the same day, and the goal is to hit 50,000 words by the end of november.
The camp version though (which I assume means ‘mini’ rather than… the other thing) allows you to set your own goals. More of a group effort practise run for the big november event. I set my own goal at 10,000, but I may well increase that as time goes on. So far I’m doing fairly well, but I did have a bit of a head start.
I have also submitted my first vaguely-completed short story (very short story, only 2500 words) to Critique Circle. This one is a site where you can submit your stories to the site, and they get put into a weekly ‘window’. During this time slot, they are free for other site members to read, and leave critiques using a very well designed critiquing system. I was a little dubious at first, but I have (so far anyway) been proven wrong. Nice people, helpful crits.
So there we go, another literary update. No artwork though. Oh except that I did do a very basic ‘front page’ image for my short story, as when it has had it’s final edit I intend to upload it on here in ebook format for people to download and read (if they so wish). Figured it needed a cover. I wont post it up yet though, I’ll save it for when the story is finished.
And on that note, I’m done.
